TO STAND AGAINST CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT
Join Cornerstones of Care in launching Child Abuse Prevention Awareness
month on Thursday, April 2, as we build awareness of the maltreatment of
children and how it can be prevented. Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters
Baker will be the keynote speaker at the event.
Four out of every 100 children in Kansas City are neglected and/or abused.
This event demonstrates Cornerstone’s commitment to strengthening children,
families and the community and to inspire Kansas City’s leaders to promote
children’s social and emotional well-being and prevent child maltreatment
within families and communities. It will begin at 11 a.m. on Cornerstones front
lawn at 300 E. 36th Street. The public is invited.

BECOME A FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE PARENT
Thousands of children are afraid and alone after suffering abuse or neglect. Foster and adoptive parents open their hearts and homes, helping these children to reclaim a world of possibility, security, and hope.
You don't need a big house or a lot of money to help. Becoming a foster/or adoptive parent is one of the most rewarding things you can do.
