Who We Are

Cornerstones of Care is an organization of Kansas City agencies providing therapeutic treatment services to children and families.

Each day, the agencies of Cornerstones of Care provide direct services to 2,000 children and families.

Services available from Cornerstones of Care

Cornerstones Healthy Families Programs include:

Foster Care and Adoption Services and Nurse Case Management Services:
Collectively serving 100+ children each month who are affected by child abuse and neglect.

Home Visitation Services:
Providing early, preventative services that stabilize family needs and ensure healthy growth and development to families prenatally or with newborns under 3 months of age.

Fathering Services:
Promoting and prioritizing healthy, active involvement of dads in the life of their child

Relationship Education Services:
Enriching and strengthening relationships of all types

Direct Services for Children and Families:
Our agencies help at-risk children and their families throughout Missouri and Kansas by offering a comprehensive range of direct, specialized services.

Providing necessities to children in care through comfort care packages when they enter foster care, celebrate a birthday or hope for a holiday gift. Accepting new or gently used items.

Our agencies: A system of comprehensive care

Gillis: Serving children and families and providing in-home mental health intervention, a full array of residential treatment and special education services for children with emotional and behavioral disturbance, with a particular specialty in MR/DD dually diagnosed clients. Serving ages 5-17.

Marillac: Offering a wide range of acute and sub-acute hospital, residential and outpatient services for children with mental illness as well as emotional and behavioral disturbance. Serving children ages 4-17.

Ozanam: Serving adolescent children and their families as well as young adults struggling with severe emotional, behavioral or learning problems. Particular specialty in intensive residential treatment, on-and-off-campus day treatment services and transitional living programs.

Spofford: Providing intensive residential treatment, community-based services and therapeutic summer programming for children with severe emotional and behavioral disturbance or mental illness ages 4-12 years old.

Fostering Strategies for Change - 2013 Regional Conference

October 8 & 9, 2013

The 4th Annual Fostering Strategies for Change: Children, Families and their Communities is a mental health and child welfare conference in Kansas City, Missouri. Each year over 400 youth, family caregivers, service providers, judges, lawyers, researchers and policy makers participate in 2 days of exploration of innovative practice and strategies that improve multi-system collaborations and outcomes for children & families.
