Team Member Spotlight - Brian Rhodes

Brian Rhodes is a program manager overseeing team members who look after the youth in our residential treatment program on our Gillis Campus. When he isn’t working, Brian enjoys relaxing at home with his family.

What is your position?

I am a program manager over three managers and 38 team members who care for the youth in our residential treatment program and have worked for Cornerstones of Care for eight years. The administrative side of my job entails creating schedules and ensuring all team members’ hours are entered for pay periods. But the most important task I do is create a healthy environment for the youth we serve and my team. I pride myself on being courteous and displaying tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions.

What do you wish people knew about the work you do?

That it is truly hard work but also rewarding knowing you can be a positive change in a kid’s life. It’s inspiring when the youth call you months or years later with updates on their lives – you know you’ve done your job well and made a difference in their lives.

What do you love about what you do?

Working with the kids and my team is amazing! They make each day interesting and enjoyable.

Are there times that stand out as a favorite memory?

There were times we admitted youth in our residential treatment program that other agencies thought would never be able to return home. But no matter how challenging they were, we worked with them. We provided a constant, structured, caring environment to help them process their trauma. We changed their lives because they were able to return home. All the hard work is worth it when you get letters from a family thanking you for working with their loved one.
