This course will educate participants on labor and sex trafficking with a particular focus on the vulnerabilities of children and adolescents in the child welfare system. Course information will be presented through lectures, discussions, video clips and small group activities.

Objectives:

  1. Describe various forms of trafficking.
  2. Become familiar with federal and local anti-trafficking laws.
  3. Identify the vulnerabilities and risk factors of potential victims.
  4. Explore trauma bonding and discuss the impact of complex trauma on help-seeking.
