Fiesta de Leyva
Robert, Christine, Jayden, and Michael turned a simple idea into a heartwarming tradition. What began as an effort to meet their new Kansas neighbors blossomed into the Fiesta de Leyva, an exuberant neighborhood block party! This annual gathering features all the hallmarks of a fantastic fiesta: margaritas, tacos, piñatas, games, bouncy houses, raffles, and an infectious sense of community spirit. The highlight? An unbelievable raffle and many generous donations from neighbors, with all proceeds boosting Cornerstones of Care’s crucial work for children. Cheers to the Leyva family for uniting fun, community, and philanthropy!
The MAKIT KC Bowling Tournament
This exciting event gathers friends from 14 states, creating a “family” that spans from coast to coast. After a thrilling tournament, the bowlers unveiled their triumphant finale: a generous donation of $3,000 to Cornerstones of Care! The continued partnership with MAKIT KC reflects a shared commitment to supporting the children and families in our community. Each strike and spare on the lanes represents hope and opportunity for those we serve.
Sorella Group Holiday Happy Hour
The season of giving took on new meaning at the Sorella Group/Cornerstones of Care Holiday Happy Hour at Limitless Brewing. Attendees brought not only their holiday spirits but also their giving hearts, contributing cash donations, and gifts that left the donation table overflowing! The outpour of support from the community was a reminder of the true meaning of the holidays: kindness, generosity, and the joy of helping others.
