Cornerstones of Care has been awarded the Missouri Intensive In-Home Services/Intensive Family Reunification Services contract through a series of one-year contracts renewable for up to five years.
The current contract is a retention of the previous contract in which Cornerstones of Care provides IIS/IFRS in Jackson County, Northeast and Northwest Missouri. Beginning on January 1, 2025, Missouri will contract with only two providers from three in the previous contract period.
“It was a very competitive bid process,” said Chief Programs and Innovation Officer Justin Horton. “We submitted a comprehensive bid, and being awarded the contract is reflective of that.”
IIS is a short-term crisis intervention program for Missouri families whose children are at immediate risk of being removed from the home due to substance use, abuse, neglect, or other crises. IIS is designed to support families by helping them acquire the necessary skills to meet their children’s needs, connect the family with community resources, and safely keep children out of foster care.
IFRS is an intensive program that works directly with Missouri families who have had children removed from their home to identify and outline the actions needed to safely reunite the children with their parents. In 2023, Cornerstones of Care provided IIS/IFRS services to 919 Missouri families.
“Our IIS/IFRS work is a highly successful example of prevention that keeps kids out of foster care or ensures a healthy reunification of youth to families,” Justin said.
