Tee It Up Fore the Kids, an annual fundraiser for Cornerstones of Care, takes over Topgolf in Overland Park, Kan., on Thursday, May 9, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. to raise money for children and families impacted by trauma.

Part entertainment center, part high-tech driving range, TopGolf allows guests to choose from more than a dozen creative games to play in a climate-controlled, open-air golfing bay. Despite all the event has to offer, prospective attendees still might assume that this event is only for older golf enthusiasts who want to practice their swing.

Event organizers want to change your mind about that.

Aaron Dollinger’s first time at Tee It Up was in 2023. He and his wife, Erin, both in their 30s, purchased several bays at Top Golf to enjoy the evening with friends and introduce them to Cornerstones of Care.

“The opportunity to bring our friends together to support a great organization is always a win for my wife and me,” said Aaron. The couple first connected to Cornerstones of Care as volunteers for NASB’s North Pole and have purchased gifts for kids in foster care for the past five years.

“We love the opportunity to give to an organization that works with largely underserved populations in such a meaningful and effective way,” said Aaron.

In addition to three hours of playing time, Tee It Up attendees get exclusive access to an open bar, dinner, and bar snacks for the entire evening. Cornerstones of Care also hosts a raffle and other games to give attendees the chance to win prizes.

While Aaron is a self-described “big golfer,” he admits that the event is just as fun for his friends who don’t spend their Saturdays on the green.

“You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy the event,” said Aaron. “For me, it’s less about competing than just being with friends. It’s a great opportunity to support a fantastic organization and spend time with friends while doing good.”

As excitement builds for this year’s Tee It Up fundraiser, it’s clear that this annual event is more than just a round of golf, but an evening of entertainment that you must experience for yourself.
