Lydia Allen Hired as New CAO

Cornerstones of Care has hired Lydia Allen as its new Chief Advancement Officer. She begins work on September 8.

Lydia brings more than 15 years in non-profit management. During that time, she has developed, implemented, and evaluated fundraising programs at the Indianapolis Symphony, Arts KC, and the University of Kansas Endowment Association. After two years in the for-profit sector, Lydia is returning to work at a child welfare nonprofit.

“I am tremendously excited to return to this impactful work on behalf of Cornerstones of Care.,” Lydia said. “I look forward to coming alongside the Executive Leadership Team, Advancement department and Board to elevate our work and ensure continued, meaningful support for the children, families, and communities we serve across Kansas, Missouri, and beyond.”

During the interview process, Cornerstones of Care President and CEO Merideth Rose was impressed by Lydia’s nonprofit experience and her understanding of how to lead a team of talented individuals to accomplish big goals.

“Lydia distinguished herself through her proven fundraising experience, a strategic approach to advancement, strong business acumen, and her ability to execute,” Merideth said. “Equally important to us was how she leads. Lydia brings a deeply human and joy-centered approach to leadership, grounded in trust, transparency, collaboration, and genuine care for people.”

Lydia is a graduate of Butler University with a degree in Arts Administration. She and her husband have, themselves, benefitted from Cornerstones of Care programming. For the past four years, they have been foster parents licensed through the organization.

In her new position, Lydia will oversee all aspects of advancement work, including the organization’s fundraising portfolio, grant applications, volunteer programs, marketing outreach, and business development to expand earned income from current programs.
